Tesla Giga Shanghai ramped up production in 2022, which had a positive effect on sales in early 2023. The total vehicle deliveries from the Chinese factory amounted to 66,051 units, reflecting an increase of 10.4% compared to the same period last year. In January, Giga Shanghai sold 25,148 Model 3s and 40,903 Model Ys. While domestic sales have grown significantly, Tesla has managed to keep exports high. 39,208 Model 3s and Model Ys were exported in January. This is 3.2% less than a year ago, however it also underlines that domestic sales have grown significantly not due to a slowdown in exports.
