Tesla sold 75,842 Chinese-made vehicles in April, according to data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). They included 35,886 units for export, corresponding to 47.3 percent. Thus, Tesla delivered 39,956 vehicles to China in April, or 52.7 percent. April sales of the Chinese-made Model 3 and Model Y were 26,783 and 49,059 respectively, according to CPCA.

Tesla Giga Texas reached a production rate of 3,000 Model Y units per week in December and added 1,000 more units by early April of this year. Just a little over a month later, Tesla has already reached a new milestone of 5,000 units in a single week, increasing the capacity by 20 percent in a short amount of time.
