1. 중국의 배터리셀 제조업체 Gotion High-Tech 가 미국의 자동차 업체와 LFP 배터리 공급 및 미국 내 제조공장 건설 가능성 모색을 위해 협력하는 협약을 체결했습니다.
협약 문서에 의하면 LFP 배터리셀을 2023부터 2028년까지 최소 200GWh 를 납품할 예정입니다.
미국의 어느 자동차 업체와 협약 체결했다는 내용은 없지만, 배터리셀이 LFP 라는 점, 납품량이 상당하는 점이 제 생각에도 테슬라 밖에는 생각나지 않네요.
Chinese battery cell manufacturer Gotion High-Tech has signed an agreement for the supply of LFP batteries and collaboration to explore the possibility of building a manufacturing plant in the U.S. with a big public American automaker. Gotion did not disclose the name of the customer, but there are speculations that it could be Tesla.
According to the terms of the agreement, LFP battery cell deliveries will take place between 2023 and 2028 and include a total volume of at least 200 GWh. Gotion will manufacture LFP batteries in China and export them to customer in the U.S. In addition, the partners also plan to localize the production and supply of LFP batteries in the U.S. and explore the possibility of a joint venture in the future. While the contract clearly calls for a joint venture, Gotion did not provide further details on it.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has just announced that the 2021-2022 Tesla Model Y earns a TOP SAFETY PICK + Award, which is awarded only to the vehicles with the best performance in their ratings.
After Tesla switched its vehicles to a camera-only system in the spring of 2021, IIHS said the mid-size SUV’s standard front crash prevention system earned superior ratings in both the vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian tests. The new award only confirms the highest level of safety of Model Y.

As part of this, the company has placed an order for 10 Tesla Semi trucks. The Texas-based manufacturer's electric trucks are highly popular, helping companies achieve their goals in an effort to become carbon neutral.
Karat said it currently has 86 trucks and trailers and provides third-party logistics (3PL) services to approximately 100 of its customers in California. The Company is planning to expand its logistic offerings geographically from its existing distribution centers in Texas, New Jersey, and South Carolina in those regions, as well as further expansion in California.
