1. 머스크의 글로벌 모바일 전시회 MWC2021(스페인 바르셀로나) 기조 연설을 정리하면, 아래와 같습니다.

 

1) 현재 스타링크 사용자는 약 7만명이며, 1년 안에 50만명이 사용할 수 있다.

2) 현재는 약 12개국에서 운영 중이다. 

3) 총 투자액은 최소 50억 달러에서 100억 달러 정도이며, 앞으로 더 투자할 경우 200~300억 달러가 될 수 있다.

4) 500 달러의 장비 가격을 250-350 달러로 낮출 계획이다.

자신만만하게 기조연설을 했는데 '사용자 50만명을 강하게 이야기 할 수 있었던 이유가, 이미 다가올 8월에는 스타링크위성이 72개의 궤도면을 커버하며, 6개월 내에 극지방을 제외하면 전세계에서 이용 가능하기 때문입니다.

2. 독일의 환경단체 'Green League' 와 'Nabu' 에서 기가 베를린의 기능 테스트를 당장 중단하라고 긴급 소송을 했는데, 프랑크푸르크 행정 법원에서 테스트는 환경에 위협이 되지 않으며, 이들의 주장은 전혀 근거가 없다며 기각했습니다.  

The Administrative Court of Frankfurt an der Oder have rejected the urgent claim by two environmental associations for a functional test of Tesla Giga Berlin. The tests do not pose a threat to the environment, which means that the claim has no basis whatsoever.

Environmental associations Green League and Nabu have failed with a rushed lawsuit to stop testing the functionality of Tesla systems Giga Berlin. The Administrative Court of Frankfurt an der Oder rejected the motion, which was announced on Tuesday.

3. 6월 초, IIHS(고속도로안전보험연구소, The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety)에서 테슬라 비전과 신명 모델3를 테스트 했는데, 레이더가 달린 모델3의 획득 결과와 동일한 안전 등급(Top Safety Pick)을 받았습니다. 

 

모델3는 새로운 카메라 기반의 주행 및 보조 시스템에 효과적인 자동 긴급제동(AEB)와 전방 충돌 경보(FCW)시스템을 제공합니다. 

In early June, IIHS tested the new Model 3 with Tesla Vision and gave the car a top Superior rating in a test of whether it could avoid or lessen a collision with another vehicle, and an acceptable Advanced rating in tests of whether it could avoid or lessen the impact of striking a pedestrian. The results are consistent with those obtained by the IIHS when testing the earlier Model 3 with radar. “The performance seems to be similar for both systems,” said David Aylor, manager of active safety testing at the IIHS. The similar Tesla Model Y also uses a camera-based system but does not have a Top Safety Pick + designation because it has yet to be tested, he continued.

Tesla Model 3 regains Consumer Reports Top Pick status and IIHS Safety Award as new independent IIHS testing shows the new camera-based driving and assistance system provides effective automatic emergency braking (AEB) and forward collision warning (FCW) systems.

4. 테슬라는 연구 개발 및 테스트 차량 충전을 위한 v3 슈퍼 차저 12개를 팔로얄토 본사에 설치합니다. 

 

이 내용이 굉장히 중요한 것이 신형 4680 배터리 셀을 장착한 테스트 차량을 위한 충전 스톨일지 모른다는 점에서 입니다. 

 

머스크는 2021년 1Q에 프리몬트에 소형 배터리 셀 생산라인을 갖추고 있고, 2021년에 연간 10Gwh를 생산할 수 있을 것으로 보이며, 셀을 꽤 많이 만들었지만 아직 자동차로 탑재-출하할 정도의 신뢰 수준은 아니라고 말했었습니다. 

Tesla is installing Superchargers at its headquarters in Palo Alto for exclusive use for test vehicles and related research and development. Twelve V3 Superchargers will be closed for public use and employee car charging.

At the moment, Tesla has a small production line of the new battery cells at Fremont. The test line, a small battery factory, is already sizable compared to usual standards. The company expects it to achieve a production capacity of 10 gigawatt-hours per year in 2021. During the Q1 2021 Earnings Call, Tesla CEO Elon Musk reported that the company has made quite a few cells, but has not yet come to the point where they are reliable enough to be shipped in cars. Nevertheless, Tesla is already approaching this point, which is a great sign. Two months after this announcement, there is every reason to believe that the company has made great progress, and perhaps the cells are already ready for testing in cars.
