Volkswagen joins Tesla in addressing the Indian government. Manufacturers are calling for lower import duties on electric vehicles in the country to spur demand for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

In July, Tesla sent a letter to Indian ministries asking for a reduction in import duties on electric vehicles, which would be expected to increase demand for them and generate revenue for the government. The California-based manufacturer said in a letter to the ministry and the country's leading think tank, Niti Aayog, that it would be more appropriate to lower federal taxes on imports of fully assembled electric vehicles to 40%. That compares with current rates of 60% for cars priced below $40,000 and 100% for those above $40,000.

While local sales of made-in-China vehicles fell to 8,621 units from 28,138 in June, export sales rose to 24,347, up 386.3% from a month earlier. Tesla sales in the first month of each quarter are usually lower than in the next two months, so there is a chance that the Giga Shanghai will increase its numbers in August and September.

리프레시 모델S 롱레인지의 강력한 수요 뿐만이 아니라, 반도체 쇼티지도 딜리버리 지연에 한 몫 거드는거 아닌가 추측해 봅니다.

제가 알기로 모델S 롱레인지의 경우 2022년까지 딜리버리 계획은 원래 없었습니다.

Now, @TheKilowatts received a revised delivery date in his Tesla account for the Model S Long Range. After seeing his account reflect an August delivery date twice, Tesla has revised this date with an estimation and range of October 31st to November 20th.

The message clarifies that this is currently the best estimate that Tesla can provide, and the vehicle may still be subject to a later delivery as unpredictability still exists. Earlier this year, Tesla estimated that Long Range Model S deliveries might not happen until 2022, so some confusion still exists regarding when exactly deliveries will begin.
