1. 미국이나 중국에서 홍수 시 모델3가 보트 모드를 킨 것처럼 물을 건너는 모습이 종종 포착되어 사람들을 놀라게 했습니다.

모델S 의 경우에는 보트 모드를 넘어 잠수함 모드로까지 생각하게 한다네요.

물을 건너는 것이 위험성 때문에 권장하진 않지만, 기가 상하이에서는 홍수 시뮬레이터 테스트를 거친 후 출고한다고 합니다.

The facility simulates flooded streets, and every Model 3 and Model Y manufactured in Giga Shanghai are put through the simulator before they are sent to delivery centers or abroad. This allows the company’s vehicles to be ready for the numerous typhoons that typically hit China and nearby regions every year.

2. 스페이스X COO 이자 사장인  Gwynne Shotwell 에 의하면, 스타링크 위성 인터넷에 대한 50만 건 선주문을 확보했다고 합니다.

머스크가 현재는 약 7만 명의 사용자가 있지만 1년 내에 50만명 이상이 사용할 것이라고 말했는지 알 것 같네요.

6개월 내에 선주문 사용자들이 활성 사용자가 될 것이며, 차후부터 18개월 동안 약 10억 달러 수익이 생길 것으로 전망하고 있습니다.

SpaceX can convert all of those preorders to active users in the next six months and 500,000 (~85%) become long-term customers, the company could effectively secure almost $1 billion in Starlink revenue over the next ~18 months. Crucially, the 600,000 preorders (and 100,000 customers) Starlink has secured in the last nine months have been for services that SpaceX has made abundantly clear are still in beta – with all the reliability issues and software/hardware bugs that entails.

Each satellite gets assigned a station-keeping slot,” SpaceX wrote to the FCC, “Every slot is passively deconflicted (via orbit design) against all other slots in the constellation. While satellites remain in their station-keeping slots (via station-keeping burns) they are guaranteed to avoid conflicts with other Starlinks that are also in their slots.” The company said that the “’Active’ collision avoidance system is the second line of defense” and that “the vast majority of Starlink collision avoidance maneuvers are against orbital debris, or 3rd party satellites; not other Starlinks.”

SpaceX also discussed about collision avoidance of ‘Starlink-on-Other-Operator’. “Starlink is committed to being a responsible member of the space community. Though Starlink collision avoidance is automated, there are always humans on-call to coordinate and promptly respond to any external operator inquiries,” the company said, “When a maneuverable Starlink satellite sees a conjunction with another satellite: Without intervention, Starlink satellites will assume maneuver responsibility. If another operator prefers to maneuver instead, Starlink satellites can be commanded to remain ballistic for the span of the conjunction event.”
